Julie Semoroz se produit dans le monde entier avec ses compositions musicales, ses performances et installations sonores. L’artiste franco-suisse se passionne pour l’écologie et les neurosciences, et collabore étroitement avec des chercheurs, des laboratoires et des spécialistes depuis 2019. Sa démarche associant l’art et la science a été distinguée par de nombreux prix et bourses, dont plusieurs en collaboration Centre interfacultaire en sciences affectives CISA

Dans l’ancien garage des pompiers à Môtiers, Julie Semoroz poursuit son exploration des matières et du corps en tant que résonateurs et transmetteurs de sons. Son installation artistique immersive fait résonner des morceaux de bois abîmé par le bostryche typographe, un insecte ravageur qui décime les forêts de la région. Équipés de vibreurs sonores, ces fragments appellent les sens de la vue, de l’ouïe et du toucher, et permettent au public de ressentir physiquement les pulsations et résonnances du bois, comme un écho vivant de la forêt passée et présente.

THE LIVING COMMITTEE créé par Julie Semoroz, est une œuvre immersive qui conjugue installation sonore, videos, composition sonore et performance. Pensé comme un espace de dialogue entre humains et non-humains, le projet se déploie sous la forme d’installation multivocales intégrant des enregistrements de voix humaines et non humaines, fréquences environnementales transformées, recherches scientifiques et récits glânés sur la route.

Nomade et collaboratif, THE LIVING COMMITTEE se réinvente à chaque activation, en impliquant artistes, scientifiques et médiateurs locaux. Ces performances explorent des thématiques contemporaines urgentes : écologie, interconnexion du vivant, communication intra et interespèces, neurosciences et biologie. Elles constituent une expérimentation collective, un espace d’interactions entre humains et non-humains, entre matière et conscience – une tentative de repenser notre place dans le vivant en commençant par communiquer les uns avec les autres avec nos différences artistiques, culturels et politiques.

Julie Semoroz performs her musical compositions, performances, and sound installations around the world. The French-Swiss artist is passionate about ecology and neuroscience, and has been working closely with researchers, laboratories, and specialists since 2019. Her approach combining art and science has been recognized with numerous awards and grants, including several in collaboration with the Interfaculty Center for Affective Sciences (CISA).

In the former fire station garage in Môtiers, Julie Semoroz continues her exploration of materials and the body as resonators and transmitters of sound. Her immersive art installation resonates with pieces of wood damaged by the bark beetle, a pest that is decimating the region's forests. Equipped with sound vibrators, these fragments appeal to the senses of sight, hearing, and touch, allowing the public to physically feel the pulsations and resonances of the wood, like a living echo of the forest past and present.

These performances explore urgent contemporary themes: ecology, the interconnectedness of living beings, intra- and inter-species communication, neuroscience and biology. They constitute a collective experiment, a space for interaction between humans and non-humans, between matter and consciousness – an attempt to rethink our place in the living world by starting to communicate with each other with our artistic, cultural and political differences.
